Acupuncture Shows Promise for Breast Cancer Treatment–Related Joint Pain
A new clinical trial presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium explored whether acupuncture could help women stay on these life‑saving medications by reducing pain. Researchers enrolled 226 post‑menopausal women with early‑stage, hormone‑sensitive breast cancer and divided them into three groups: true acupuncture, sham acupuncture, and no treatment.
KEY FINDINGS
58% of women receiving real acupuncture experienced at least a 50% reduction in joint pain after six weeks.
